Hi Iraqi Tear,
Iraqui women and children are in our hearts and minds. Your blog is my link to my beloved country. Keep blogging, it might help other simple minded americans realize what their elected and reelected commander and chief / Adminstration did to peacefull people thousands of kilometers away, just for oil. Some americans still in denial and beleive that they are doing us a favour by occupying us, huh. Stay safe and bring the truth in their face. Thanks for your comment and sorry for being late in replying; there was some thng wrong with my PC. Your comment made me feel you. I do not know if I hate you or not. Yet let me ask you what would be your feeling when tens of thousands of highly equipped soldiers come to destroy your country? Supposing I would be among them; could you like me? Putting in mind that USA is not Iraq. USA became a country after genociding the natives by criminal whites. Iraq is the cradle of the civilization. It was like a dream; a beautiful dream turned into bloody nightmare because of the lies of your stupid Bush the second. I could understand that you were young and touched with distributing candies; yet had you ever red the history of former Yugoslavs before being divided by the Black (White) House? Could believe that America led NATO in Bosnia to save Moslems minority? The Black House tried to plant a Moslem entity in the heart of the united Europe; in the same way through which the ugly Zionist entity was planted in the heart of the Moslem and Arab World. If you could remember; Alija Izetbegovic the late Bosnia president visited "Israel" three days after the war was finished; indeed after the American mission was accomplished!
You, the American young generation, should read more and more to discover the lies of the American Administration, whoever the president is. Again I am advising the Americans to read "The Cultural Cold War" to see what the administrations committed against the Americans under the cold war to make them so selfish and so naïve.
However; thank you for your awaken conscious. Do not ask me what to do there. Do what your conscious is telling to do. Try to convince your friends to go through our blogs; to go through UN sites to know that America since August 1990 until now killed more than 2 million adult Iraqis and more than 2 million Iraqi children under 5. My sister, I cannot express how sorry I am for the hell we have enabled in your country.
I am an American, and I joined the
Army in 1996... please do not hate me (though I understand if you do, it is your right) -- at that time, naive 17 years old, I wanted to "do something" and "make a difference" -- I hoped to be part of missions that prevented genocide as happened in Rwanda... at the time, the big conflict was Bosnia, and from where i sat as a girl, the military seemed the best way to be able to go help out. I saw soldiers on tv giving candy and shelter to Bosnian children and believed my purpose lay there.
Then I was privileged to study your country (in an overall conflict/refugee program) in England and began to doubt that the goodwill of most Americans (those who ever see beyond their own front door, that is) actually translated to the results of our policy. I was shocked and heartbroken when US attention turned to talk of war on Iraq.
And then we were sent there in 2003, my husband and me, both of us horrified at what we were doing, considering the US' general lack of understanding of any peoples within your region.
But we went out of duty and loyalty to our soldiers (most of whom are good-hearted, and at that time not so hard), and hoping we could make our own areas as good as possible. My soldiers (well, 80% of them or so) were such good people, I hope you believe most want to do what is right. Of course, that doesn't help if our policy is fatally flawed at the top, wearing us down and facilitating more bloodshed in Iraq in spite of hopes.

Now... I would give my life to make this terrible thing go away, to rewind to 2002/3 and through any act of desperation, make our leaders choose a wiser path. I have so many nightmares from my (short) time in Najaf/Hillah/Karbala and Baghdad, I cannot imagine what you deal with each day.
Please, please know there are many here who care about you. That doesn't help you since we have no power, and and I don't even know anymore, if anyone hears my prayers for you or anyone else. But I pray for your safety and to find some peace of mind through some miracle.
I pray for your country -- and for mine. Many dear people here have lost their way, mislead into believing the easy answers of our politicians.
Maybe with more info, my country will wake up and find its heart also. If not, I don't know what to do. PLEASE let me know of any ideas you think for us "normal people" here to do, anything that might help at all.
Until then-- you are in my heart, and I will forward this to as many like-minded people as i can think of, in hopes of raising awareness and getting action. ("in sha All*h"?) I will encourage friends to read the blogs of you and other Iraqis. (They say more than a whole month of our stupid "news" channels)
